KAPI electronics GmbH was founded in 2004 with the idea to develop a flight data recorder, to improve safety in aviation.

The Eberswalde Airport (EDAV), located 25 km northeast of Berlin, offers optimal testing and working conditions for the KAPI developed products and projects, because of the direct access to the runway and a shelter to test planes while in operation.

Throughout the development of the hardware and software, it became apparent that KAPI could be used for other applications as well. Because of the continuous development of KAPI flight data recorder software, it can be configured for maritime and road applications. Thus in 2006 KAPI sea and KAPI road were developed, which record and monitor movements of vehicles and watercraft as well as operating conditions.

In 2007 KAPI control was developed, which is a diagnostic and remote control system for electronic equipment. The free programming, unlimited configuration options and especially, the open programming interface make ​​it possible to easily integrate the KAPI control into existing systems to monitor and control the equipment remotely. Through the further development of KAPI control, compatibility with a wide variety of systems has been created.

The browser-based interface is continuously being modified to meet the customers’ needs, while working to develop new solutions for more security, especially for aviation. The new KAPI air integrated g-force sensor records improper use of the aircraft and also the cause of accidents, furthermore it is possible to record landing data improving flight training.

KAPI electronics GmbH is an authorized dealer for Funkwerk avionics GmbH and offers optimum service in securing the purchase of aircraft technology. Managing Director Mr. Kalinka is a Class 5 avionic examiner.
